Online Security Measures in Online Banking
While bank ID theft is a valid concern, National Bank Of Kansas City’s online banking is secure. We have taken several steps to ensure your money and personal information is safe.
Online Security from Home
While we do our best to cover you on our end, there are measures you can take to protect your personal information and money from your home computer too. Here are a few tips to ensure you and your account is protected from bank ID theft.
- Make sure your Web browser does not automatically save your username or your password when you visit any log in page, especially your Internet banking log in page.
- Use a different password for every online account you own.
- Don’t save your passwords or usernames in a file on your computer. If your computer is stolen, then your chances of bank ID theft will increase.
- Update your Web browser to a new version like Mozilla 3.0 or Apple 3.2.1. The newer your browser, the higher the level of encryption and security for your home computer.
- Don’t ever use your social security number, address, or birth date as part of your username or password. Also, try to incorporate symbols and mixed lower and uppercase letters.
- Always log off when you exit your National Bank Of Kansas City Internet banking account. If you forget to log off, then restart or shut down your computer before walking away.
