IRAs

Individual Retirement Account

Because of the potential for tax-savings and tax-deferred earnings, an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a smart financial decision*. Let us help you find the right IRA for your retirement needs. We offer two types of IRAs – Roth or Traditional.

Roth IRA

A Roth IRA is an important retirement savings vehicle. Contributions to a Roth IRA are not tax deductible like a traditional IRA. Assuming all conditions are met, money withdrawn from your Roth IRA account during retirement is not taxed*. And, with a Roth IRA, there is no requirement to take minimum distributions after hitting age 70-1/2.

Traditional IRA

A Traditional IRA is a tax-advantaged arrangement that allows earnings and deductible contributions to grow tax-deferred. That means you don’t pay income taxes on the earnings and deductible contributions of your IRA until you begin taking withdrawals.

At National Bank Of Kansas City, you can open either type of IRA in conjunction with our Money Market or CD. Our Money Market IRA allows you to earn a higher interest rate as you grow your account balance. It only takes $25.00 to open your Money Market IRA and your account is FDIC insured up to $250,000. Any money you withdraw from your Money Market is considered a payout on your IRA.

You may also open a Certificate of Deposit IRA. These IRAs are available in seven different terms. Interest rates vary by term and a $4,000 initial deposit is required.
